Profit over winning since 1975

Greed, Failure, Mismanagement and Mediocrity "highlight" Jeremy Jacobs 34 years as owner of the Boston Bruins.  The Miserly Jacobs has hijacked the team and taken advantage of the loyal fanbase for much too long and all but rendered this once proud Bruins franchise to expansion team status.

BRUINS OWNERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT HAS COMBINED FOR JUST 1 PLAYOFF ROUND VICTORY IN THE PAST 15 YEARS

THEY HAVE NOW MISSED THE PLAYOFFS 4 TIMES IN THE LAST 8 YEARS...

DOH! The Bruins get knocked out in the 1st round again by who else the Montreal Canadiens.

The Bruins have not won a playoff series since 1998-99.

"The primary responsibility for this mess - and even team insiders acknowledge that the picture, now and for next year, is grim -  lies not with Peter Chiarelli or Dave Lewis, not Mike O’Connell or Harry Sinden, but only one man: owner Jeremy Jacobs."

"It was Jacobs who ordered that the 104-point team of 2003-04 be dismantled, believing he’d be able to restock his roster with cut-rate bargains after the lockout. O’Connell, the former general manager, pleaded to be allowed to re-sign free agents Mike Knuble, Michael Nylander and Brian Rolston - all of whom wanted to stay and could have been signed rather cheaply for the last two seasons - but was refused. It was an immediate disaster, compounded when O’Connell was ordered to dump Joe Thornton in a deal that will rank as the dumbest in team history and one of the worst ever in the NHL"

'Charlie in Charge' - The future of the Bruins

The Red Sox just won another title, the Patriots look poised for their fourth of the decade, and even the Celtics have the swagger of champs again. Which leaves the hapless Bruins fighting to rescue themselves from obscurity. That’s where Charlie Jacobs—son of the team’s notoriously aloof and tightfisted owner—comes in. Poor guy.

More concerned with maximizing hotdog sales in third period blowouts rather then putting together a Stanley Cup contending team for his championship hungry fans has finally caught up to the greedy Jacobs.

"Jacobs owns the TD Banknorth Garden and has Delaware North run the arena's operations, including the cash-rich concession stands. Also, Jacobs collects rent from the Boston Celtics and other non-hockey events and owns 20% of NESN, a regional cable network. Who needs the Stanley Cup?" - Forbes Magazine  Read More...

Unfortunately for Bruins fans Jeremy Jacobs has so many buisness ventures that he could care less how the team does year in year out as long as hes making a profit from them.

Bruins Fans are much like cattle to Mr. Jacobs. How many fans are there each night? and how much money can he get out of us per pound?

The only language he understands is empty seats.
